Please note: On June 11, 2013 we were contacted by Health Canada
and informed that under the Pest Control Products Act, as administered
by the Pest Management Regulatory Agency branch of Health Canada,
we are no longer permitted to make any direct or indirect pest
control claims (including miticide and fungicide) regarding
neem oil.
We do not wish to transgress this Act, so we now cease from
making any such claims or suggestions.
Health Canada has informed us that we are allowed to sell neem
to be used in pet shampoo or a carrier oil for pet skin application,
as long as we do not make any pest control claim. So it is as
such that we now sell neem oil.
Also, the labelling on the neem oil is Health Canada compliant
and makes no claims.
Directions:
Shampoo
for pets:
Mix ½ ounce neem oil with 8 ounces mild chemical-free
shampoo. Shampoo twice per week.
Ointment
for pets:
Mix 1 tablespoon neem oil with 4 ounces carrier oil such as
almond oil or olive oil. Apply to skin twice per day.
Storage:
This oil is naturally thick and solidifies even at room
temperature. To liquefy, place bottle in hot water for a few minutes. Store in cool dark place.
Caution:
Do test
spot on skin to test for skin sensitivity. Some pets are sensitive
to neem oil and require greater dilution. Avoid contact with
eyes. For external use only. Keep out of the reach of children.
A few drops of lavender oil (or other essential oil) can be
added to mixtures to mask the smell of the neem oil (neem oil
has a smell that is similar to french onion soup).
