Welcome to Bur Hill
Border Collies.
We are a small farmstead located in the Tillsonburg area of
southern Ontario (30 minutes southeast of London). In addition
to manufacturing an extensive line of natural remedies for people,
pets and livestock, we also raise purebred Border Collies. Our
niche is in providing pups that make wonderful family pets for
active families. Our pups also do well in recreational sports
and herding.
Cindy is a black and white, rough coated Border
Collie with a wonderful temperament. She has a strong herding
instinct and loves to work our geese. She is also extremely
patient and gentle and absolutely adores children (we have 4
young children). She also enjoys babysitting other dog's puppies
and is the self-imposed "auntie" of the young dogs
in our kennel.
Lass is a tri-colour, rough coated Border Collie
with a very pretty face. She loves playing with our children and
riding in their wagon. Besides being a superb frisbee catcher,
Lass enjoys playing house with our girls and also playing veterinary
clinic where she happily has her teeth checked, a splint put on
her leg and falls asleep after being put to bed in the "hospital".
Clare is a
very athletic rough coated tri-colour Border Collie with an
extremely bright, cheerful disposition. She loves everyone,
and is very fond of children. She is incredibly muscular and
is proving to be the fastest dog we own. She has a wonderful,
amiable outlook on life. Her gentle nature and her biddable,
affectionate temperament has made her a favourite on our property.
Katie, who
we sometimes call Cindy Junior, because she looks so much
like her mom, is a beautiful black and white rough coated
border collie who is very bright and teachable. Her temperament
is a perfect cross of her mother's liveliness and her father's
laid back friendliness. She is very affectionate and has that
soft disposition that we like so much.
Like all our dogs, she loves children
and enjoys playing their games.
We often have to look twice to make sure it is her and not
her mom.
Jess is a handsome
red and white rough coated border collie from Roxy and has
that terrific temperament that is so important to us. She
is very alert and bright and has a lot of style. She is also
very easy going and loves playing with our children. She is
a favourite with our girls and their friends when they play
"obedience school" with each child working with
a dog.
Nellie, is
a very sleek and stylish rough coated border collie who has
the great looks and moves of her mom Cindy. Besides being
a real softy who loves affection and being walked by our children,
Nellie is also a quick learner and likes to please.
Shannon
is a very handsome red and white rough coated border collie
out of Roxy and Roy. She has a wonderful easy going, biddable
temperament and has been an incredibly easy dog to train.
Shannon is a favourite of people who come to visit us and
exemplifies the type of pup we produce.
Roy is a wonderful
red and white border collie which we imported from Angus county,
Scotland. He comes from a working sheep farm near Forfar and
has sheep herding experience. He also has a great off-switch
and is happy to take it easy.
Roy is a very
handsome boy with a great temperament. He is extremely gentle
and affectionate and loves our children. He is very easy going
and has a relaxed outlook on life. He has the kind of temperament
that will give us the family pet type of pups we have become
known for. It is important for us that we produce border collies
that are easy to live with and make great companions.

Glen is a handsome
black and white border collie we have brought over from England.
He is very smart, has lots of spunk, is very outgoing and
loves children. Although energetic and playful, he also has
an excellent off switch and is very easy going. We are so
pleased how similar in temperament he is to Roy. Glen gets
along wonderfully with everyone including all other dogs and
truly epitomizes a happy dog.

Our
puppies are vet checked, dewormed, micro-chipped, have first
shots, and are well socialized in a family setting. They are
sold on a spay/neuter contract and are registered with the Canadian
Border Collie Association. Our puppies are 8 weeks old before
we allow them to go to their new homes. This enables them to
become well socialized with ourselves and our four children
before they go to be with their new owners.
Temperament is one of the most important aspects of our dogs.
They adore children, are very loving and gentle, and are wonderful
family pets.
All of our breeding stock has been tested clear for hips and
eyes (CERF).
Upcoming
Litters:
Nellie has been bred with Glen
and is expecting a litter around the 5th of March. We
expect the pups to be all black and white. We have now taken
all the reservations we will take until the pups are born and
we see what we have.
Clare has
been bred with Trek and is expecting a
litter around the 6th of March. Trek
is a handsome black and white Scottish import from Moyhall Kennel
near Caledonia Ontario.
He has a great disposition and easy manner. We have had one
litter from him previously and the pups were lovely. We expect
black and white pups from this match. As with Nellie's litter,
we have now taken all the reservations we will take until the
pups are born.
Please note:
our preferred method of initial contact is by email. We are
careful where we place our pups. We ask that if you are interested
in our pups, please tell us where you live, your age, some details
about yourself and your living and work situation, how physically
active you are, previous experience with dogs and how much time
the pup will be left alone during the week. Also, please include
your phone number.
